PETG 3D printingTough, slightly flexible and weather-resistant
PETG is from the same family as plastic drinks bottles. It is tougher than PLA, bends a little before breaking and stands up to moisture, chemicals and outdoor use, which makes it the go-to material for functional parts.
Best for
Brackets, mounts and clips
Electronics enclosures and machine guards
Outdoor fixtures and garden parts
Jigs and fixtures for production lines
Parts exposed to water or mild chemicals
Not ideal for
Temperatures above about 70 °C
Razor-sharp fine detail (slightly glossier, softer edges than PLA)
Tips for ordering in PETG
Choose Strong (50%) infill for load-bearing brackets.
PETG is a safe default when you are unsure whether a part needs PLA's detail or ABS's heat resistance.
